New brand in Norman-Optika - BALMAIN

Balmain is a haute couture fashion house that was founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain. In 1947 Balmain perfumes were launched and “Vent Vert” achieved success. In the same year the collection of Haute Couture „Jolie Madame“ was launched. In the 1960-1970’s „Jolie Madame“ became the favourite style of both European and Hollywood royalty. Pierre Balmain clothed Ava Gardner, Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren.

During nearly 70-years Balmain fashion house has been famous for its feminine evening gowns and furs. The fashion house outfits both men and women for an edgy and metropolitan look. His styles were effortless and elegant, the details were unblemished.

After Pierre Balmain died in 1982, the fashion house has had many influential designers such as Hervé Pierre Braillard, Oscar de la Renta, Christophe Decarnin. Since 2011 the fashion house has been led by 28-years-old Olivier Rousteing. His works are timeless, sexy and chic. The strong keywords are French couture and glamour. Rousteing: “ I keep Pierre Balmain in my mind because he loved strong women, women who have something to say“. Thanks to Rousteing, Balmain has reborn. In spring Balmain opened its very first flagship store in London and in autumn 2015 a shop in New York will be opened. Rousteing calls his muses „Balmain Army“ – strong, powerful women, who dare to stand out, fashionistas like Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Beyoncé.

Balmain’s eyewear is a blend of strong, edgy detail and soft, feminine elegance. Balmain’s eyewear collection is very chic, it binds rough luxury and treasured materials. Special attention is focused on details. The frames come in a variety of styles, each bearing trademark features such as black and gold accents, sparkles, studs and rivets, chains, contemporary shapes, leather, gloss and matt effects. The eyewear collection’s signature is a circular badge with the Balmain „B“. It is discreetly placed on the inside of the right temple tip.
